KAPPA & MONTAIGNE MARKET PAY HOMAGE TO JERSEY HISTORY

Avatar

We at Kicks to the Pitch love a good collaboration between fashion and soccer, and KAPPA‘s latest partnership with Parisian luxury retail store Montaigne Market is no exception. While we typically come across the marriage between soccer and the more streetwear-centric sensibility, the aforementioned collaboration goes to show that luxury/designer fashion is perfectly capable of holding their own on the pitch; another perfect example being the recent Alexander Wang x adidas Originals soccer-inspired Season 3 release, not to mention the many others that we simply don’t have time to list out.

True to luxury fashion and its affinity towards remembering its heritage, what both KAPPA and Montaigne Market have done for their latest capsule collection is a series of soccer jerseys that pay homage to the history of soccer kit design. This is emphasized further by the partnership’s exclusive exhibition that showcases original soccer kits worn by soccer legends – Ronaldo, Zidanne, and Cisse to name but a few – held within Montaigne Market’s Paris-based store. If you happen to be in Paris, be sure to stop by to check out the exhibition – it’ll be well worth it – followed by picking up one of the super limited KAPPA x Montaigne Market capsule collection jerseys, with only 50 pieces made, sold exclusively at Montaigne Market Paris.
