Also,  El Jimador and Green Flash slanged the booze while DJ episode slanged the tunes. The Instagram sensation/female freestyler extraordinaire that is Lisa Zimouche aka @lisafreestyle was on hand with several local street ballers. They rocked some exhibitions and helped attendees navigate through an obstacle course in which several prizes were up for grabs including tickets to a Chivas v Tigre’s match.

It’s becoming more common place these days and rightfully so, footy teams/brands linking with various musical artists for partnerships that very simply, make sense. The UK in particular has seen  the likes of Desiigner and Stormzy play pivotal roles via ad campaigns in order to expand the off pitch culture of the beautiful game.

Pushing things along Nike recently decided to commemerate their new Tottenham kit partnership with an intimate performance from lifelong Spurs fan and rising grime artist, AJ Tracey. Booze, photo ops and a set from one of North Londons finest, all under the #WeWilllRise ethos. Nike and Spurs have really kicked things off proper with this one.  Have a look at the pics and video below for closer glance at the soiree.

Last night, the tenth edition of two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash’s popular charity soccer match, The Steve Nash Foundation Showdown, took place at New York City’s Sara D. Roosevelt Park.

The Showdown featured professional soccer players and NBA stars in a soccer exhibition to benefit the Steve Nash Foundation’s programs for underserved children.

MLS players from  NYCFC and New York Red Bulls stars David Villa and Sacha Kljestan faced off as opposing coaches ahead of their MLS teams’ upcoming Hudson River Derby on the weekend.  They were assisted by honorary NBA coaches Joel Embiid and JJ Redick, and coached Showdown’s most talented rosters in its decade-long lineage. Some of the stars included Patrick Viera, Claudio Reyna, Jeremy Lin, Christian Fuchs, Dwayne De Rosario and many more. The talent on the pitch was nearly rivaled by some of the attendees with included the likes of Frank Ribery, Divok Origi, plus NYCFC teammates Rodney Wallace and Jack Harrison.

Aside from the match Philly 76er Joel Embid competed vs Stecve Nash ins a soccer skills competition in which Tag Huer pledged money to The Steve Nash Foundation. Also, prior the day prior to the match local teens were treated to a soccer clinic by David Villa and his D7 soccer Academy along with a free meal courtesy of Chipotle.

”Our tenth Showdown – amazing,” said Nash.  “Every year, these players come out on their own time at their own expense to support the work we’re doing for kids, and we couldn’t be more proud to have them.  To get to reach a global audience with Whistle Sports and introduce the game I love with these athletes, is just incredible.”

Last wekend EA came to Hollywood for an all inclusive and engulfing video game experience. Attendees congregated at the iconic Palladium which was converted into various station in which they could play EA’s current, as well some of their yet to be released titles like highly anticipated Battlefront 2 and Fifa 18. As you’d expect with such massive games in their catalogue space was limited and lines were long. Thankfully there was other entertainment by way of a dj and special performances from the likes of Nas. Media were also treated to the theatre space for runs of the PC ports of each game as well as key note briefing’s about the upcoming titles. Various youtube gaming celebs were also on hand to take photos and mingle with fans. We briefly chopped it up with Chuboi and Batseson from Fifa fame.

Naturally we took the Fifa 18 line about 5 times to get a few runs of the new game. While there is still much to be released and we essentially played a demo, the game felt smooth and crisp. We will have a much more in depth review along with more content in the weeks to come as Fifa 18 gets closer to launch.

Last night Nike’s East LA community store played host to an incredible event centered around one of the world’s best, Neymar. The night kicked off with food, music and the ability to purchase limited Nike Neymar gear. Later on the Brazilian starlet would show up for the unveiling of a massive Neymar mural painted by fellow Brazilian and highly touted street artist, Eduardo Kobra. After the brief presentation Neymar would take part in a few kickabouts with some lucky local kids to finish off the glorious night.

Check out photos from the even below and keep it locked to the site for more exclusive content involving Neymar.

As you can tell from our social media feeds and slew of content dropping over the past week, we’ve been busy. From Madrid, to Manchester and now to London, for the launch of the adidas Nemeziz. Last night the good people at adidas invited what seemed like hundreds of media, youtubers, freestylers and soccer provocateurs to a massive warehouse for a uniquely grandiose experience. The night started with a raucous introduction courtesy of a montage which briefly went over the tech of the new boot. The festivities commenced with a freestyle exhibition from the F2, a brief Q & A with Jesse Lindgard and Ander Herrera as they displayed their newly won Europa League title, then patrons were set free to walk around the various Nemeziz themed exhibits. Several media outlets were also  able to sit down with Jesse, Timo Werner of Red Bull Leipzig or Hake Çalhanoğlu for more in depth interviews. We had a nice sit down with Timo Werner, keep it locked for more on that in the near future. As you’d expect, there was free beer, wine, food and the night was fittingly capped off by a frenetic performance courtesy of the Panda man himself, Designer.

The good people at Turmapp have officially announced the start of their Street Series Tour. The objective is to uncover existing street soccer scenes in cities across the United States. Qualifiers will be held in 15 cities for 3v3 and 5v5 matches in which the winners will represent the U.S. at the global stage in Europ versus the likes our good friend Edward Van Gils, Séan Garnier, Issy “Hitman” and Soufiane Bencok, to name a few, with Van Gils as the official ambassador.

City qualifiers will commence in Miami, FL, on April 30 and end with the National Final in Chicago, on August 1, 2017. The champions of the 3v3 will be competing in Manchester, UK, as part of SoccerEx World Street 3’s, while the champions of the 5v5 will be competing in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, against the world’s best Futsal clubs.

Turfmapp is looking to shake things and set this competition apart from others by making the first to promote equality and equity; the first gender-free competition and a non-pay-to-play for qualified underprivileged youths & adults.

The Street Series Tour is currently self-funded, with collaborative help from organizations in the soccer space and without any major sponsors. This is the main driver behind the entry fees needed to jumpstart this project. There is an opportunity for sponsorship at a national level or at an individual city level, where soccer-related businesses can reach out to Turfmapp directly at support@turfmapp.com
At registration enter promo code KTTP for $50 off your registration fee valid through April  24th

Last Wednesday the Seattle Sounders and Reigning Champ dropped the highly touted/anticipated ‘Champions Pack’. The collaboration pays homage to the Sounders and their 2016 MLS Cup winning campaign. To mark the occasion the Sounders hosted a launch party at The Ninety in Pioneer Square for fans, friends and media.

The soiree was built around the collection  as a pop-up retail space was decorated with various large scale banners featuring promotional photos, while mannequins proudly displayed the line along side the very shiny and beautiful MLS Cup. The three Sounders players which modeled the ‘Champions Pack’ were in attendance as well. Brad Evans, Sefan Frei and Christian Roldan all graciously mingled or posed for selfies with fans. Overall, the night was up to the lofty standers of all parties involved.

Nike should just change it to Air Max Month. All month long the Swoosh has been murdering the game with releases of retros, flyknit reworks and teasers of new things to come, all in the name of the mighty Air Max. Pop ups have sprouted up worldwide serving as part retail space and Air Max Museums, we were invited to a preview of the one in LA this past weekend. As you’d expect, the space was second to none. Featuring various Air Max installations, like a Nike id station, a timeline of the iconic silos lineage and even a runway where attendees could try out and strut in the new Nike Vapor Max. An open bar, delicious hors d’oeuvres and DJ were the cherry on top. There was also a Q and A with two of the twelve designers hand selected by Nike to compete in a worldwide competition in which the winner would see his or her Air Max design manifested into production. Before the night ended  people were urged to vote for their favorite design on an onsite photo booth.
